Materials:
Dental implants are usually made from either titanium or zirconia ceramic. Since titanium is metallic in color, it can lead to a gray discoloration on the finished tooth. Zirconia, on the other hand, is white and therefore more aesthetic and generally does not present with any color issues.
Benefits:
Dental implants are best used to replace badly damaged teeth or missing teeth. For badly damaged teeth, dental implants are just more predictable and they never get cavities. A damaged tooth can cost thousands of dollars to repair and the results may not last. For missing teeth, implants are by far the best solution as opposed to bridges and removable dentures. They prevent you from having to destroy adjacent teeth and stimulate retention of the bony structure of the jaw.
Our Approach to Dental Implants
At Care Tooth we mainly place Zirconia Ceramic Implants. We believe that not only is zirconia extremely strong and durable, but it looks better aesthetically too. After a zirconia implant is placed, the process for restoring the implant is very similar to routine crowns. This means that if there are any problems with your restored implant crown, replacing it is very simple and does not require any special equipment. Zirconia has the added benefit of not being retained by screws. Over time, screws on most titanium implants can loosen and force patients to have to completely replace the implant crown. This common problem is completely avoided with Zirconia dental implants.
Are Dental Implants Affordable?
The exact cost of dental implants depends on the amount of implants needed and the final restoration. Dental insurance can sometimes offset some of the cost. If needed, we also have no credit check payment plans available for your convenience. Using one of our payment plans can also have the added benefit of raising your credit score as well since all payments are reported to the credit bureaus.
